Yvonne Strahovski Interview

Chuck’s Yvonne Strahovski is Spoiling for a Fight

Australian actress Yvonne Strahovski has crossed the Pacific to find success as Agent Sarah Walker on Chuck. Since the pilot, she’s locked horns with evil spies, locked lips with Chuck Bartowski, and donned countless undercover outfits of varying degrees of amazingness. I spoke to Strahovski—with her unSarah-ish, but incredibly cute Aussie accent—about what’s next for her character, and the spy who loves her.

TV.com: We recently saw a flashback to a very different Sarah, from the beginning of Season 1. Can you talk about how Sarah has grown since then, and how she continues to grow?

Yvonne Strahovski: When she first started, she was really focused on her work and being a CIA agent. But I guess meeting Chuck Bartowski has really kind of rocked her boat. She’s grown to like him and love him, so much that she questions her own trajectory in life and the professional versus the personal. And this season, especially, Season 3, she’s breaking down her walls that she’s kept up for so long. I think she’s showing a little bit more emotion, which is really fun for me. (more…)

WHO SHOULD ‘CHUCK’ UP AS HIS GIRLFRIEND? SARAH OR HANNAH?

The Pros and Cons for Choosing Sarah
1) She’s hot. There’s no denying that Sarah is amazingly beautiful. Plus, she isn’t afraid to wear a hot outfit or scale down into her skivvies (or lingerie) to do what needs to be done.
2) She kicks ass. Who wouldn’t want to go into battle with Sarah? She can take out just about anyone male or female and usually do it in style. Add to this that she’s pretty damn handy with a firearm and she’s not someone you want to double-cross or get on your s*** list. Of course, sans-Intersect 2.0 Chuck is going to have a hard time keeping up (well, for that matter he does anyway) but isn’t that half the fun?
3) She’s smart. Sarah isn’t a dummy. She can figure out most problems that happen or help Chuck out using her brain as well as her brawn and beauty. That’s a pure lethal combination.
4) She’s got heart (or a heart). Sarah deep down isn’t the rough and rumble person she tries to portray. She’s got a heart and she’s not afraid (under the right circumstances) to show you how she feels.
5) The workplace. This is a big bone of contention. Obviously, in the field having feelings for someone could cost lives. It could cost the life of the one you love or the ones that are trying to protect them. It could mean you make a decision you normally wouldn’t. Choosing Sarah means always having to deal with the fact that you are seeing your loved one in danger.
6) Death. And to back up that point, the fact that she could die on a mission or protecting Chuck or whatever is a potentially heartbreaking possibility. Not having those feelings could mean being able to move on quicker or even protect that person from having this become their fate.
7) Feelings. While we know that Sarah has feelings for Chuck, we aren’t sure how strong they really are. Is it something she has as a passing fancy? Or is it something that could be termed as love? We just don’t know at this point especially given their history.
